Santa Clara, Calif. - March 8, 2005 - Align Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGN), the inventor of Invisalign®, a proprietary method of straightening teeth without wires and brackets, today announced an alliance with The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education to develop Invisalign certification and clinical curriculum at The Pankey Institute.

The Pankey Institute is widely acknowledged as one of the world's premiere advanced continuing education organizations for dental professionals. More than 17,000 doctors have attended courses at The Pankey Institute since it was founded 34 years ago.

In 2005, The Pankey Institute and Align Technology will develop and co-host Invisalign Certification courses as part of the Institute's educational curriculum. In addition to standard Invisalign clinical content, the course will integrate topics developed specifically for students at The Pankey Institute, including the impact of Invisalign treatment on restorative function, periodontal health, and occlusal function, and how Invisalign treatment integrates into The Pankey Institute's practice philosophy.

As a supplement to the Invisalign certification course, Align and The Pankey Institute will work with expert Invisalign orthodontists to develop hands-on courses that focus on specific Invisalign subjects such as Interproximal Reduction, ClinCheck, PVS Impressions, Adjuncts, and Practice Integration.
