Align Technology Supports Treatment Goals by Increasing Number of Case Refinements Included With Every Case

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 6, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- At the 105th Annual Session of the American Association of Orthodontists in San Francisco, Align Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGN), the inventor of Invisalign(R), a proprietary method of straightening teeth without wires and brackets, announced an increase in the number of case refinements included with every case, providing doctors with a new level of flexibility and support for Invisalign treatment. Effective July 1, 2005, doctors can order up to three case refinements on each new case submitted.

Case refinement refers to additional aligners that doctors may order toward the end of treatment to achieve their treatment goals or to further perfect final results for the patient. Previously, each Invisalign case included one case refinement, provided the refinement aligners were ordered within six months of the expected case completion date. Now, doctors will be able to order up to three case refinements as part of the original case fee.

This increase in the number of case refinements, reinforces Align's commitment to helping doctors achieve their treatment goals for every Invisalign patient, and complements the existing Invisalign Warranty. The warranty provides a midcourse correction at no additional charge if a patient's aligners stop fitting at any point during treatment, provided there have been no changes in treatment plan, patient compliance, or dental anatomy.

"Align has one of the most comprehensive product support programs in the industry." stated Thomas M. Prescott, President and Chief Executive Officer of Align Technology, Inc. "We are committed to providing our customers with flexible and extensive treatment options so that they have the resources they need to achieve their treatment goals with the Invisalign system."

About Align Technology, Inc.

Align Technology designs, manufactures and markets Invisalign, a proprietary method for treating malocclusion, or the misalignment of teeth. Invisalign corrects malocclusion using a series of clear, nearly invisible, removable appliances that gently move teeth to a desired final position. Because it does not rely on the use of metal or ceramic brackets and wires, Invisalign significantly reduces the aesthetic and other limitations associated with braces. Invisalign is appropriate for treating adults and older teens. Align Technology was founded in March 1997 and received FDA clearance to market Invisalign in 1998.
