Align Technology Teams With the American Dental Hygienist Association to Bring Invisalign® Education to the Hygiene CommunitySANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct 26, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Align Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGN), the inventor of Invisalign®, a proprietary method of straightening teeth without wires or brackets, today announced a new relationship with the American Dental Hygienist Association (ADHA) designed to enhance continuing education opportunities and growth in the dental hygiene community.

"From its inception, Align Technology has been committed to providing quality continuing education," said Dr. Lou Shuman, Vice President of Strategic Clinical Relations at Align. "This relationship allows us to provide dental hygienists, a key frontline provider of oral health services, with the information necessary to respond to patient questions and to advise them confidently and effectively."

Together, Align and the ADHA will produce an article series which will provide the information necessary to maximize the hygienist's expertise and understanding of the Invisalign technique. The first article in the series appeared in the August 2005 issue of Access, ADHA's monthly publication.

Align will also join ADHA at its Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL), a regional symposium that allows ADHA to provide relevant, cost-effective continuing education to the hygiene community. Additionally, Align and ADHA will generate a comprehensive clinical brief on the Invisalign technique that will focus on the specific information needs of hygienists.

"Part of ADHA's mission is our dedication to advancing the art and science of dental hygiene by promoting the highest standards of dental hygiene education," said Katie Dawson L. RDH, BS, President of ADHA. "We feel our work with Align Technology will expand upon our existing education offerings, emphasizing ADHA's support for professional growth through technological innovation."

About Align Technology, Inc.

Align Technology designs, manufactures and markets Invisalign, a proprietary method for treating malocclusion, or the misalignment of teeth. Invisalign corrects malocclusion using a series of clear, nearly invisible, removable appliances that gently move teeth to a desired final position. Because it does not rely on the use of metal or ceramic brackets and wires, Invisalign significantly reduces the aesthetic and other limitations associated with braces. Invisalign is appropriate for treating adults and older teens. Align Technology was founded in March 1997 and received FDA clearance to market Invisalign in 1998.
