(NASDAQ: ALGN) today announced an agreement with DENTSPLY Implants in which the iTero® Intraoral Scanner will soon feature connectivity with ATLANTIS™ custom abutments. In uniting technology from two market leaders, the digital workflow will offer dental professionals, periodontists and oral surgeons a digital implant restorative procedure that will provide greater precision and enhanced efficiency.

In addition to bringing start-to-finish digital precision to the creation and placement of custom abutments, the digital integration enables the laboratory to simultaneously deliver the ATLANTIS custom abutment and the restoration to the restorative clinician. This can eliminate one to two visits from the overall procedure, streamlining the process and providing an improved patient experience.
