Thomas M. Prescott
Director, President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Prescott has served as President and CEO of Align Technology since March 2002. Previously, he was President and CEO of Cardiac Pathways, Inc., where he brought focus to the organization, launched new products and substantially grew the revenue run rate over a 24-month period. Prior to Cardiac Pathways, Mr. Prescott held various sales, general management and executive roles at Nellcor Puritan Bennett, Inc., and various management positions at GE Medical Systems. In addition, Mr. Prescott served in sales, marketing and management roles at Siemens. He earned his masters degree from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University in 1992 and his bachelors degree, with emphasis in Civil Engineering, from Arizona State University.
Kenneth B. Arola
Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer
Ken Arola was appointed Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer in December 2007. He previously held the role of Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller since 2005. Mr. Arola brings more than 25 years of broad financial experience in medical device and technology companies. Prior to joining Align, Mr. Arola spent 14 years at Adaptec where he was most recently Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller. As a key member of the team tasked with growing Adaptec's business, he led global financial teams, including corporate finance, international finance, financial and strategic planning and also led M&A financial activities. Prior to Adaptec, Mr. Arola held various financial planning and operations controller positions for companies such as Unipath Company, Inc, a start up manufacturer of analytical medical instrumentation, Varian Associates, a manufacturer of semiconductor equipment, analytical and research instrumentation and health care products and Cooper Laboratories, a provider a various medical solutions. Mr. Arola holds an MBA degree from Santa Clara University and a bachelor of science degree from the University of the Pacific.
Dana C. Cambra
Vice President, Research & Development
Mr. Cambra was appointed Vice President, Research and Development in June 2008. He is responsible for research and development programs and for executing the Company's product roadmap to deliver new and enhanced Invisalign products. Innovation has been a hallmark of Mr. Cambra's career. As a member of the management and technical teams at Acuson Corporation, now a Siemens Company, he was instrumental in the development of the Sequoia Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound system, a breakthrough in high-resolution ultrasound products that has generated more than $4 billion in revenue and has been inducted in the Smithsonian. More recently, Mr. Cambra served as Senior Vice President, Research and Development for Pharsight Corporation, a leading provider of simulation and modeling software for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Prior to his role at Pharsight, Mr. Cambra was Vice President, Engineering at Stentor Inc. and the Phillips Global PACS business unit, an industry leader in providing medical informatics solutions. Earlier roles included executive engineering and operations positions at Visto, where he led development of communications solutions for the first Handspring/Palm Treo device, and iScribe, where he led the development of an industry leading ePrescribing solution. Mr. Cambra received his undergraduate degrees in mathematics and engineering from MIT and his graduate degree in engineering from UC Berkeley.
Sunny Azadeh
Vice President, Information Technology Global and Chief Information Officer
Sunny Azadeh joined Align as Vice President, Information Technology Global and Chief Information Officer in October 2007. She has worldwide responsibility for all of the company's information technology, database, application and computer operations. Prior to joining Align, she served as Senior Vice President, Information Technology at Agile Software Corporation and Chief Information Officer at ZiLog, Inc. Ms. Azadeh has over 23 years of experience in information technology and is passionate in leveraging upcoming technologies to deliver value. Ms. Azadeh is involved in several professional organizations. Since 1993, she has been an active member of the Bay Area Consortium of Information serving on its advisory board for emerging and new technologies. She is also a mentor and alumna at Women's Unlimited. Ms. Azadeh holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science engineering from San Jose State University.
Sonia Clark
Vice President, Human Resources
Sonia Clark has served as Vice President, Human Resources since October 2006. She is responsible for leading the global human resources team for Align's operations and facilities around the world. Prior to joining Align, Ms. Clark served as Vice President, Human Resources at Avago Technologies, a spin-off of the Semiconductor Products Group (SPG) of Agilent Technologies. Ms. Clark brings extensive human resource leadership experience from previous senior level roles at Cadence Design Systems, Black & Decker, Colgate Palmolive and several startups. Ms. Clark received her bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology from California State University Northridge, and has earned numerous certifications in organizational development programs. She currently serves on the advisory board for Santa Clara University's Human Resource Leadership Development group and is a member of the Leadership Council for the East Bay Leadership Foundation.
Dan S. Ellis
Vice President, North American Sales
Mr. Ellis has served as Align Technology's Vice President, North American Sales since June 2005. He is responsible for developing new and existing customer relationships and for scaling Align's North American sales organization. He is also responsible for customer support, training and inside sales. Prior to joining Align, Mr. Ellis was Vice President, Sales for privately-held BARRx Medical. He was alsoVice President, BioSurgery US and Vice President, Sales for Fusion Medical Technologies, a division of Baxter Healthcare, and Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Cardiac Pathways Corporation. Earlier in his career Mr. Ellis held national sales positions of increasing scope and responsibility at Fusion Medical Technologies and Eli Lilly MDD/Guidant Corporation. Mr. Ellis graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Oregon State University, and subsequently served five years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Roger E. George
Vice President, Legal Affairs and General Counsel
As Vice President, Legal Affairs and General Counsel Mr. George is responsible for all aspects of Align's legal affairs including transactional, securities, governance, intellectual property, real estate and employment matters. Prior to joining Align, Mr. George was the Chief Financial Officer, Vice President, Finance and Legal Affairs and General Counsel of SkyStream Networks, a worldwide network infrastructure company whose products enable service providers to create and deliver digital medial services across converged broadband and broadcast networks. Prior to SkyStream, Mr. George was a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, CA, the leading law firm representing technology companies at all stages of their growth, and the investment banks and venture capital firms that finance them. Prior to joining WSGR, Mr. George was an associate attorney with Buist Moore Smythe & McGee in Charleston, SC. Mr. George worked at KPMG Peat Marwick in Washington, DC, before attending law school. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. George attended the University of Virginia where he earned the degrees of bachelor of science degree in commerce (1988) and Juris Doctor (1992).
Len Hedge
Senior Vice President, Business Operations
Len Hedge was promoted to Senior Vice President, Business Operations in December 2007. Mr. Hedge's focus is on the design and implementation of core business processes and cross-functional collaboration to support the Company's long-term goals and strategic initiatives. Since 1999, Mr. Hedge has helped create Align's world-class manufacturing technology and processes, first as Vice President, Manufacturing and most recently as Vice President, Operations, where he built a preeminent worldwide manufacturing team and operation, and customized and deployed many cutting-edge technologies for Align's one-of-a-kind manufacturing process. Prior to Align, Mr. Hedge served as Vice President, Operations for Plynetics Express Corporation, a rapid-prototyping and stereolithography services supplier. From October 1991 to December 1996, Mr. Hedge worked at Beckman Instruments Corporation as Manager for Prototype Manufacturing and Process Development. Prior to joining Beckman, Mr. Hedge spent 13 years with General Dynamics Corporation, holding positions of increasing responsibility from Machinist to Manager of Mechanical Fabrication. Mr. Hedge received his bachelor of science degree from La Verne University.
Gil Laks
Vice President, International
Mr. Laks has served as Align Technology's Vice President, International since September 2005 and has been with Align since June 2001. He is responsible for managing strategic direction and operations for Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Prior to joining Align, Mr. Laks was Vice President, Business Development for the diagnostic imaging division of Singapore Technologies. He was also Director of International for ISIX, Ltd., and educational computing services firm. Mr. Laks graduated with a BBA in Business Management from The University of Iowa and and MBA from the Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania. He also served five years in the U.S. Air Force.
Emory M. Wright
Vice President, Operations
Emory Wright became Vice President of Operations in December 2007. In his new role, he will be responsible for heading up all of the Company's global manufacturing and operation activities. Mr. Wright joined Align in 2000 and served as Vice President of Manufacturing, and most recently served a General Manager, New Product Development. During his tenure as Vice President, Manufacturing, Mr. Wright was instrumental in building Align's world-class manufacturing operations. Prior to joining Align, Mr. Wright spent more than 14 years in various medical device and biotechnology companies in the Silicon Valley, where he has lead worldwide manufacturing, engineering, planning, materials/procurement, and distribution/logistics organizations. Mr. Wright holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Santa Cruz.
Darrell Zoromski
Vice President, Global Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer
Darrell Zoromski has served as Vice President, Global Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer since December 2005. Mr. Zoromski is responsible for global advertising, marketing programs and Align brand awareness. Prior to joining Align, Mr. Zoromski held the position of Vice President and General Manager of CZV Labs at Carl Zeiss Vision, a global manufacturer and distributor of optical lenses to eye care physicians and chain retailers. Mr. Zoromski has held various roles in leading consumer focused companies including Director, Breakfast Foods Division at Pillsbury Company, Director, Home Cleaning Division at S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc and brand manager at Procter & Gamble Company.
